Course Description This course reviews the fundamentals of mathematics, including whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percents. Additional topics may include proportions, units of measure, data interpretation and analysis, and basic geometry. (Developmental/No College Credit granted). Prerequisite: THEA or THEA alternative.

CAD Computer Aided Drafting

DFTG 1309 Basic Computer-Aided Drafting (2-4-3)
An introduction to computer-aided drafting. Emphasis is placed on setup; creating and modifying geometry; storing and retrieving predefined shapes; placing, rotating, and scaling objects, adding text and dimensions, using layers, coordinating systems and plot/print to scale.

Welding

WLDG 2413 Intermediate Welding Using Multiple Processes (3-4-4)
Instruction using layout tools and blueprint reading with demonstration and guided practices with some of the following welding processes: Oxy-Fuel gas cutting and welding, shield metal arc welding (SMAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), or any other approved welding process.

Computer Maintenance

CPMT 1345 Introduction to Computer Maintenance (2-4-3)
Examination of the functions of the components within a computer system. Development of skills in the use of test equipment and maintenance aids to prepare the student to troubleshoot and repair internal and external computer devices.


ITSC 1305 Introduction to PC Operating Systems (2-2-3)
A study of personal computer operating systems. Topics include installation and configuration, file management, memory and storage management, control of peripheral devices, and use of utilities.
Prerequisite CPMT #1311.

Electrical Circuits

CETT 1303 DC Circuits (2-4-3)
A study of the fundamentals of direct current including Ohm's law, Kirchhoff's laws and circuit analysis techniques.


ELPT #1311 Basic Electrical Theory (2-2-3)
An overview of the theory and practice of electrical circuits including calculations as applied to alternating and direct currents.
